TOPIC: Update on my oscar?

Update on my oscar? 2 years, 2 months ago #85164

Still got the 55 gallon tank with only one oscar
My oscar has been stuck at around 5-7 inches and has grown fatter but not longer for awhile now............
Ammonia:0
Nitries:0
Nitrates:10-15
Ph:? Lost the test kit

Heres a funny story im not home during the day so i ask my neice to try and train my fish to jump for the cichlid stick. Usually im to lazy to wait for him to jump so i just drop the food in. Then 2 months later still not knowing my neice had taught my oscar to jump i decided to try my self thinking it wouldnt jump. I waved the food over the water and i turned around to tell my mom something and i hear a big splash and a stinging pain on my finger i scream and like wack my hood super hard and my finger was bleeding alittle from the bite lol i was so suprized

I just set up a 10 gallon fish tank to quarantine my feeder guppies.

Im trying to buy feeder guppys of craigslist as they should be more healthier then store bought ones.

When quarantining how long should i do it for and what should i add to the water like medication, salt or what?

i'd observe them for some weeks, if store bought.
Put some fast growing plants in there , they love those.
Man, you can come over and get a hundred.
I got too much at the moment.
But they became pets too and they have become trainingtanks for my kids.
They keep throwing stuff in there, and beat the crap out of them.lol
Hopefully the'll never touch my big tanks.
But seriously, they grow very sloooooooow and are only like M&M's to oscars.
If you do it for nutricion, better get other fish...

btw please don't train you o to jump, for one day he'll be out of the tank!
Put your fingers with the food,(i did bloodworms) and they will come and out those from your fingers.
Mine stopped jumping after i fed like that.

but indeed, this is the risk then, i get your point.
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!
