I really never had any problem wasting any food i feed to my O and Jack but just making sure if this is the correct way to feeding them. First of all, I feed them Hikari Bio Gold medium sized pellets. I feed them 3 times a day considering my O is 4-5 inches and the Jack is 3 inches. Just got them a 2-3 weeks ago. I know when my fish is hungry cuz they would always go to the top when i turn on the light and get near the tank. I put in like 2 pellets in and the oscar would eat it right away. You could always hear him crunching on it. And the Jack would eat the other one. but takes like 1 min to fully consume the pellet since the pellet is pretty big for him. I can't afford to buy mini pellets

. After the oscar is finish eating that pellet, which is like 10 seconds or so, it would come up to the tank again. Then, I would put one pellet in for him or her to eat. The oscar would immediately grab and eat it. Then, I would keep continuing this process until the oscar starts spitting out little bits of the pellet out of his or her gills. Which is about 5-10 pellets (mostly around 7-8 pellets). Meanwhile when the Jack is finish eating his or her pellet, I would put 2 pellets in for the oscar and Jack. The Jack would also grab the pellet and eat it right away. Then little bits of the pellet would come out of his or her gills, so I stop feeding the Jack. After all that, they would still come to the top of the tank for more food. Should I still feed them or not? I heard from reading one of the articles in this site that I should stop feeding right away when they start having food coming out of their gills. I do feed them a cube of blood worms once every week on Sunday or Saturday in the morning. And 3-4 crickets once a week also. Crickets are really messy food when you see very little bits of them on top of the tank. I never feed them feeder fish or any sort cuz I'm afraid of shortening their lifespan by doing this. Sorry for the long message, just making sure I'm feeding them the right way

.
Note: Sorry, I still don't know the sex of my fishes
