Well I been doing some reading and now I dont know what to do. I have 2 oscar in a 100gal tank along with a supposly red devil but looks a like a convict(LPS told my sister it was a red devil) ,with 2 giant(2in) danios and 1 red tail botia(5in).And so far everyone is getting along. Now my questions are.

1-I have a Magnum 350 that has a split intake and outlit to reach both ends and notice a thread on having no carbor because it can cause HITH. So what do I do with my filter? What can I add to it instead of carbon?

2-If I were to add another filter what would you guys recommend?

3-My Oscars are about 3in and is it okay to put it with like 2-jd,2-convits,3 or so dojos, some catfish and some red tail botias? I know it is much but since their small Im asumming its okay and with in 6months to a year I will have a 200gal tank.

4-My 2 are only 3-4in and yet they dont fight, the swim toghter, and they look calm together. Does this mean I have a male and female?

first of all, welcome to the site!
2nd, you are way overstock now even if they are still small.
for carbon, please keep it for future use, replace it with any
fiber media or scouring pads

rule of thumbs is for HOB, x10 turn over
for canister type, x5 turnover.

What media would do the same thing like carbon for my magnum 350? So even thou their small and Im planning to get a bigger tank it, I cant do that?

Also I cant put a HOB on the tank. It has a light casing on it that doesnt alow me to put a hob. The tank is an eclipse but I dont know which one is it because I just got the tank from my uncle.

Those scouring pads work to filter out particles in the water, and also work as a host for your good bacteria.

so from what I read your tank top is completely enclosed?
If this is the case you should look at redoing your tops, Although I have another idea....
Is it possible for you to post a pic of the top of your tank?

Ok, in that filter, (I have one too) You remove the small pieces in the center, The carbon and the little white things, then put the scrubbies in there.. Should work fine.

As for adding more filers, I would look on Ebay for the 4 stage SunSun canister filter. They are not expensive, and I have 3 and LOVE them. They are rated for a 250 gallon tank so it would be perfect for your tank. I will post a link for you!
