OMG, I found something weird in my tank today swimming under the water surface and I removed it.
and don't understand what it is, so I came here to find some information and I see this post, about fish lice I checked the picture about fish lice and that little creature I killed looks like the lice, I checked all the tank and all the fish, all good but where do they come from? I did have some feeder fish for my hujeta gar but those fish are quarantine for a week in medicine and water changed everyday. and thanks god it's not attacking my fish.
had anyone else seen it? where do they come from?

It seems they have a free- swimming phase in their life, so if there's no signs of them on the fish, it may have been a single specimen.
Are your fish rubbing their skin on the decorations?

Normally if these little pests are not actually affecting your fish directly, IE attaching themselves to them, then they are pretty harmless. I would imagine that these are actually free swimming parasites that often find my way into your tank on live plants and thrive on uneaten food. Do they look like little worms?

it almost looks like that
the fish are normal hungry as always, in that tank 4 feeder fish, 4 feeder shrimp and 2 Hujeta gar all looks good not rubbing on anything, I do hope it's just a single specimen. swim below the water surface, it's almost transparent, I would not notice it if it's not swimming around very fast. Thank you Noddy for the URL for fish parasite
nothing new put into the tank than the feeder fish which I had them a weeks ago with air-stone and medic and change water everyday and medic it. all the feeder fish looks good. I also tested the water,
ph 7.6
Ammonia 0 ppm
Nitrite 0 ppm
Nitrate 10 ppm
and a little strange with the water which is some mini bubble sit just below the water surface some floating around up and down, not going to the top. Thank you for the information OFL BOSS, I was never paying so much attention to the fish and the tank, learn too much here and still learning more. Thanks to this FORUM I have good nice O not too aggressive but something for a 3 inches O to spook the 5 inches Giant Gouramy are just funny

Well, if it looks like a fish lice and swims like a fish lice....
I can't imagine anything alive moving through my tank without it being eaten, though...
And on a sidenote, how big are the Hujetas?
Even the "false" gars need quite a footprint for descent living and I wouldn't keep them in less than a 4 foot tank.
Got any pics of the Hujetas?
Are they skittish or spook easily?

they're quite sensitive to the environment, about 6 inch long and 4 and a half inch
when they don't see you coming at it yes they get spooked but when they see you coming they saw you they just don't move at all. they're so spoiled that they only eat live fish, very good predator caught their prey almost at single dash most the time.
they're very talented and always eat their prey head first unlike Oscar swallow it either way. they were move to a 3 foot tank cause 3 inch Oscar started constantly bully them. they're big but actually they only prey on smaller fish staying very quite at the surface.
about that lice it's with the hujeta not with Oscar or gourami, Oscar and gourami would eat them I suppose judging that cos I threw a beetle in the tank once got swallow right away LOL

those actual gar looks dangerous they have sharp teeth compared to hujeta, can find a lots here but all are well over 1 feet long, does not fit my current tank and afraid they will hurt my O or gourami, and I think it's hard get them their idea environment they need really wide space, but not deep tank, for them to move fast a long tank is needed.
here are the URL I found for my hujeta
