Ok, so I got my oscar, jack dempsy, and pleco over christmas. They are all around 3 inches long and they live in a 10 gallon tank. I go off to school in a few days and my school is an hour and a half away and i come home every or every other weekend. if i take them with me they wont be fed on saturday and not till late on sunday. if i leave them home my parents will have to talke care of them. i dont want to leave them with that responsibility and i dont wanna leave them behind.
What should i do? are there any alternatives that i havnt mentioned? Any help would be greatly appreaciated!

Your aquarium is really not big enough. Just the oscar alone will end up needing a much larger aquarium very soon. In the first year alone, mine grew to be about 8 or 9 inches (and is still growing) and has long since outgrown his 30 US gal. aquarium. I'm hoping to upgrade to at least a 75 - 100 gal as soon as I can afford to do so.

Oscars can go a few days without being fed. Mine almost never gets fed on weekends since I keep him at work.

ya i know its small. when do you think i should change it? the lady at the pet store said to change it when he cant move around comfortably and ive also heard six inches. Will he/she be able to live in the ten gallon untill april?

oscars can go without food for quite sum time so skipping a day wont do them any harm.

yr tank is to small,oscars grow approx on inch amonth up 18inches and sumtimes bigger so not before long u will hv to upgrade to a 55g + tank to house yr oscar alone.

Oscars grow real quick, so start thinking and get going soon on the new tank.

As for the question of where to keep him, if you keep him at home then you will have to do water changes every weekend you come back. Also measure the food out in little pots so your folks just have to pop the food in.

If you take the fish to your school they will be fine without food for a day on the weekend, also you can do water changes during the week (you are not stuck with doing it on the weekend). Until recently my fish only got fed for 6 days out of 7 (i give them peas now on the 7th day and some wont eat them so they dont eat), it does them no harm at all. In the wild they will regularly go for a couple days without food
