Is there a way to tell if my O has hole in head, or maybe just a cut?
it seems to have a new mark on its head. I would love to take a picture but
he/she is camera shy.

I have been baby sitting a friends O while he cycles his tank
and I think it could maybe some tussling could have scared
my O's head but then maybe its is worse.

any suggestions?

without seeing a pic of the oscar it will be difficult to tell with certainty what it is. if you can keep trying for a pic to show us the mark.
for the cure it would be the same for both. pristine water. this will help in healing both abrasions and hith.

Its difficult to say 100% but it looks like an injury to me. HITH is any number of holes from 1 to many, each hole is round and not irregular in shape. Check out the web for pics of fish with HITH.

Keep your water good - ammonia and nitrite of zero and nitrate below 40 and things will heal, an injury will heal in a few day, HITH takes much longer

Looks like it is some small injury to me. A couple of my babies have had that on their head once or twice. It looked like a transparent scale on the head. Should fall off in a few days and be smooth after that.

i concur with delboybully and evabug1.... it looks like an injury to me
both of them.... just follow what delboy had suggested to make sure your
fish to be safe.

i also agree, time will tell but seems like its just an injury, if so just keep yr water perfect and will heal in no time
