Ok i got my oscar two nights ago, He is 1inch. Since i got him he has been chilling there at the bottom of the tank. The night i got him i feed him frozen blood worms and he wait till the sunk to the bottom, then he scooped the up. When I'm not in the room he swims around. But once i step in he goes back to his little spot. He stares out the glass thats facing a wall. I think he is planning to escape with his pleco buddy(joking) lol. Also how many times should i feed him. I really like oscars and i want to get more involved.

welcome to the community

A 1 inch Oscar is extremely young, I don't normally see them that size at the stores I frequent. Was your tank cycled before you added the fish? it certainly isn't uncommon for a very young Oscar to be spooked and rather shy for a while. The first thing you need to do is test your water for ammonia, nitrite, nitrates and pH. If you haven't got any test kits then I suggest you get some, failing this, take a sample of water to your fish store and ask them to test it for you, but make sure they give you the exact results so we know.

sorry he isnt 1 inch he is 2 inches, but i have got a test before i put him in and he said my tank was perfect. I got another one today to make sure and they said the same thing. I think I am going to buy my own test kits. I am already attached to this thing. Could it be the temp.? it is 77-78, thank you

Your temperature is perfectly okay. I don't trust fish stores sometimes. Many of them will just tell you what you want to hear if they are not actually making any money out of you, or don't want the bother. Really, you haven't told us anything, we need to know the exact readings.

sorry but good and perfect is nothing for us.... there are times good
for others is critical for us already. we need numbers... when you say good,
does it means ammonia and nitrite =zero while nitrate =10
pH @8 coupled with above 40 nitrate is also lethal to fishes especially
when temp is above 78 deg F.

please re-check, nitrate =0 means your tank is not cycled yet.

don't be hard to your self...every body makes mistake.... it took me
several years before i got to know those things too. when i started this
hobby for foods, i am not concern about the welfare of my fishes... all
i want is for them to grow fast and be harvested whenever ready...

kept us posted for any development...
