hahaha. i think my fish is going crazy.. he spends all his time cleaning all the rocks from the midle of the tank. and if that wasn't wierd enough he keeps rubing up in my pleco...he just started doing this in the past week.. a friend of mine told me to put something shiny in there for him to play with, so i did, i put a hi-life can in there(clean of course) i think he likes the gold color but that didden't stop his woerd behavor. anyone have any idea on what the heck hes doing or is that normal behavior.. oh yeah i have one 13 inch oscar a big ass pleco and a 1/2 breed cichlid ( 1/2 convict 1/2 firemouth)
he spends all day cleaning every rock from the bottom of the tank and attacking the cichlid..wierd

Oscars can do this thing sometimes, in my experience they dont do it for long unless a female is around. Its like they are getting things ready for when a female comes around (or visa versa)

be careful leaving any metallic objects in the tank ... don't know what can leach and what doesn't. I suppose not all is bad since dividers have metal holders, but just thought I would mention it as something to keep an eye on.

Kenshin_Himura's right. Metal in the tank could potentially not be good! Hopefully someone here can tell you (OFL) which type of metals can, or can't go in the tank.

metal in salt water tanks is a big no no. However in freshwater tanks its mostly ok. Its the salt that corrodes the metal. Any metal that does leach into a freshwater tank will be very diluted and will be diluted and removed by the water changes. Lots of plants come with a little lead wrapped round them to weight them down (or they did 3 or 4 years ago, not bought any in a while). Any lead that goes into the tank is very very small and gets removed with water changes. If you add salt to your tank you will have a higher level of dissolved metals but it will still be low
