I just bought 2 oscars today, and they do not seem to be eating pellets, shrimp pellets, or flakes. Is this normal? and how long can these guys go without eating, im just a little worried about them

Don't worry they are just not used to the tank, my Oscars did the same thing with both tank i have had them in. Give it about 3 days and they will be eating and eating a LOT, and each day offer them some more food. Best of luck with your new fish. -Collin

Thanks for the info,I'm new to having a fish tank and I just don't want them to die or something.the two oscars I got were tankmates at the pet store and they get along great so far.I might get some guppys tomorrow for them to eat to get used to stuff at the top of the food floating at the top of the tank.

Hey, welcome to the site.
You can buy some bloodworms and they'll go crazy for those, once they've settled in.
Just give them some time to get over the stress from netting and being rehomed.
Go sit in front of your tank , spend time with the fish and talk to your fish.
This may seem stupid, but i do this every time i get new fish, and they will recognize you very quickly.
I got all my big fish to eat out of my hand within days, or mostly some weeks.
if you want some pointers on handfeeding, i'm more then glad to help.
