Hello again,

i have know came to the conclusion that i am going to have to get a bigger tank as my oscar starts growing (at the moment money issues are a problem), but earlier on today i came to the time of feeding him, 2 things, i have read that you should only feed your oscar once a day is this right if so what amounts shall i feed him.

at the moment i am feeding him about a pinch full and he is eating it in seconds, is this to little, i have only had him about 3 days and he has also tryed to take my finger off when i opened the lid to feed him he jumped straight for my hand and actualli caught my finger.

Is this a sign of aggression, he has done this twice to me and my mum?

How old and big is your? When Oscar's reach onto that they only need to be fed once a day, young Oscars that are growing should be fed at least twice a day, but we normally recommend three times a day. If you feed the Oscar as much as it will eat in three minutes and it will get more than enough. Young Oscars eat a lot, it seems that no matter how much you give them, it never seems to be enough

Oscars can get very excitable at feeding time and just because they jump out of the water to grab the food, this doesn't mean that aggressive, they are just behaving like normal Oscars

you should feed your oscar as much as he would eat in two minutes, and then remove what he dosent eat afterward, just give a pinch and when finishes give him another pinch, how old is he, also try giving him cooked peeled prawns, bloodworms my 2 oscars are about 4 inch i give them pellets in the morning plus i give them a prawn diced in the evening, if your oscar is young feed him twice aday untill he gets older then cut down to once aday, well thats what i do hope this helps

I do not know his age the shop did not tell me but he is about 4 inches so i would say that he is only about 4 months old, he is allways wanting to be fed, everytime i go near the tank he swims straight to the top of the tank waiting to be fed.

By the photos how long do u think i have got till i have to upgrade and also do u think it is best to take some of the ornaments out for more room?

hey lol mine do the same thing, they are allways coming up to the suface looking for food, they put you on a guilt trip, dont worry this is natuaral, just feed twice aday, giving pellets in the morning, and in the evening, or you could give cooked prawns or bloodworms or shrimps, just to mention a few, lol, sounds like he is very healthly just remember to take out what he doesnt eat afterwards, and oh yes they like to spit they food out and re eat it, have fun lol xxxxx
