Hi all I,m new to the forum but have kept oscars on and off for 30 years and my oscar archie lives in a 75 gallon tank by himself he will devore mealworms and other bugs but every time I try to feed him earth worms he spits them out and just lets them lay on the bottom of the tank. Then after a while I have to scoop them out so the water doesnt get yucky from decaying worms. I guess my question is why wont he eat worms

Hi there and Welcome!

I am guessing it comes down to Oscars do as they please. He may just not like worms. If he wont eat them I would just give him something else as a treat!

Oscars can be rather fussy with their food so there's nothing to worry about. By all accounts, worms are delicious if cooked in garlic

O's can be very picky and easily spoiled.
I fed mine mealworms,but then switched to bigger ones ,then to morios, and finally back to pellets.
he just refuses from time to time.
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!

Mine refused to eat them as well until I cut them up into halves or 3rds
