I have seen videos of oscars eating full grown mice as well as pinkies. I would imagine that the saturated fat, fur, claws, and bones would be incredibly difficult for the oscars to digest. Plus its kind of messed up to drown a mouse in a fish tank where he has no fair chance of survival

So my question is, Do the pinkies have any nutritional benefits for the oscars, despite being very difficult to digest?

Stick to pellets. There is NO NEED to ever feed live food. In my opinion, it is just cruel!

Yer, i got shown a video of a snapping turtle eating full grown mice, litterly the sickest most ****** up thing i ever seen, my oscar LLLOOOOVES pellets, ive tried giving him blood worms and he deosnt seem interested. pretty sure they make pellets with all the good stuff they need to survive.

Although he did devour the feeders i had in there, but he is always willing to take a few pellets, lol, (greedy lil basted)

terrestrial protein is bad for your O.
IMO fish should not eat mammals, for it's bad for their health.
plus its cruel, for the mouse will suffer a lot and drown.
Saw the same vids of gar eating and drowning mice and i do not condone.
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!

i will be hypocrite if i told you i did not feed mice to my oscars but that
was before. my oscar didn't have any difficulty in digesting 2 inches long
mice.... thus, how much more the pinkies.... though i haven't tried to give
them pinkies yet... but if i find some in my dresser who had damage my things,
i wouldn't hesitate to do it just to get even with the mother rats.

but for the sake of value meal for oscars. i would prefer the formulated
pellets for dietary completeness....
