Hi there i was wondering the proper ph for oscars.I have a 1.5inch tiger oscar and a 2 inch pleco in a 50 gallon tank.I just recently purchased a water test kit everything seems ok except i think my ph is too high its 7.6 i read online somewhere that some kind of wood or peat will lower ph?

Also im feeding flakes,hikari gold pellets,blood worms,and crisps.Any suggestions for different foods would be a help.I have had oscars before and i had a problem with hole in the head.If i keep my water good and feed quality food is there any other tips that anyone could tell me.

your pH is fine. dont even worry. Yes driftwood will lower pH and soften water. Just make sure it doesnt change drastically! ur o.k.

Yes, ph is fine, leave it alone, stable pH is more important, mine stays around 7.8
