hi all, i have a 2nd tank, and today i bought 2 baby tiger oscars, the golden color on them is so great and very vibrent. but the black part to there patern is pretty dim. the blackness is the part i like. the question is will the black part stay like this or will it get dark as they grow, they are at most 1" big so they are very young?????

Oscars often have juvenile colours were to change as they get older. I think that the colours on some juvenile fish are designed to help them become a little bit more camouflaged so they don't get eaten.

fish shipped to America can also be given testosterone to enhance color.

1 inch is still very small to see what your baby will look like in time.
Here's my tiger at 6 inch, camouflaged and dull coloured when i got him into the tank.

But now he's used to the tank , the black really comes out and the red has become more vibrant:

can we see some pics of yours?
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!
