At last my new tank is ready and installed in my house. Was a nightmare to move and get into position. The tank is bout 600L and mega heavy. Two of us managed to get it moved in small stages with polystyrene on the ground. Last lift to worktop was scary and a one off movement that we managed to pull off.

Had to remove double galzed door and it screeched through, just and no more.

This is tank in place with T5 lighting on. Need to leave a few more days to ensure silicone is totally cured. Still got oak edging to go around top and bottom of the tank, but should look good once finished.

Got two Tetratec EX1200 (1200L/Hour)each for mechanical filtration with two 300w Hydor inline water heaters. Also have a Lifegaurd FB600 fluidized sand filter as well for biological filtration.

Was going to go with FX5 filter but prefer the Tetratec as you can easily get into the top trays and add extra medias as required and also change the floss filters in minutes.

Going to add 22mm waste pipe in back of cupboard that goes through wall and out into garden flower bed. That way when I am doing water changes I can hoover all the poo and water and straight out. Dont need to muck about with buckets. Also have water connection in cupboard connected to chlorine / chloramine filter for water changes.

Great job, can't wait to see it running with water and fish in it And I'd love something like that waste pipe construction you're planning.

Quite some work but I bet once the project is finished it'll make up for that part.

Got tank filled up just to make sure everything was ok. Had to give it a good few days to make sure silicone was set. Took an age to fill and then empty again, however so far so good. Just waiting on juwel backgrounds arriving so I can get them in and all the kit setup and running.

Looks amazin.
Have semi sunk it into an alcove, and used a mirror to give added depth?

You have had some cool ideas there.

Well done

Oh, whats the dimension of the tank , looks 2x2 minimum

This is the tank with the Juwel background in place and set. However made the right hand side piece 1" longer than the other. Didnt notice until it had set and was to late to remove. In too much of a rush to get it up and running.

Also had to cut corner sections out of the background to get intake pipe suction cups in place. Going to paint back of the glass in those areas black so you wont notice it as much.
