These look like nice filters and Fluval ALWAYS has my vote, but... That being said, These are smaller filters for smaller tanks.

I just can't see spending that kind of money on anything but an FX5. You get 10 times the filter for less cost!

If you read the specs on these 2 filters the G6 will work on a max of an 80 gallon Oscar tank.... That for most of us is a SMALL tank!

I hope they keep trying!

Not that its really needed. like you say an Fx5 is a great filter.

But they are sure nice to look at haha =)

Before you go ahead and buy the FX5 for your 6x2x2, have a look at the EHEIM ProIII series. I have a 2080 and can recommend it for its huge media capacity/efficiency which to me is more important than outright horsepower. For my 850 litre tank it was down to the FX5 and the 2080.

Im sure the FX5 is a good filter also but in my research of the 2 at the time, there were far more negatives towards the Fluval than the Eheim. IMO it was well worth the extra price premium, still going strong and is whisper quiet.
