hi i have a 100ltr tank that holds my single tiger oscar it has a bubble tube that runs the lenght of the tank for airation.

it has an in tank filter that i dnt think is doing a good enough job. i was thinking of upgrading but i wasnt sure what would be best for me.

he is quite messy for a single oscar so id like to keep the tank as clean as possible.

any help would be great thanks

Well, 100 L is a little bit too small for an Oscar. Rather than upgrading your filtration, you really should start thinking about upgrading the whole system. 55 gallons of the absolute minimum, however go bigger if possible.

Regarding filtration, it depends on what your budget is. If you've got the money, I would go for Eheim. If you haven't got a lot of money, there are various other filters that can be bought for a cheaper price. However, you wouldn't often used canister filters on a tank your size, it is really only made the small community fish, not big fish like Oscars.

Internal filters are much cheaper than external cannister filter because they dont filter as much or as well. Go for an external filter (i prefer fluvals myself) and get the biggest one you can afford, but as OFL say get a bigger tank 1st. If you stick with the 100l you will run into problems as the fish gets bigger. Get at least 250l
