Been looking @ these leds Has any one tried them and what were they like ???

I've been toying with the idea using a 12v cb radio power supply or similar to power them

and depending on their configuration making a reflector out of 2 strips of mirror glued together on edge to form a long v shape with leds mounted in the apex of the v

Hmm colors

White +
Blue +
Green ?
Red ?

Cheers Gaz

i'd suggest blue ones.
That is for nightlighting.
i use blue LED lights and nothing beats the look of those at night.

For daylight i'd use a combo of blue and white.

Just make sure you got at least 2 Watts LED's.
Anything less will have a hard time penetrating the water .

Blue and white all the way. I assume you don't want to rock anyone down to electric avenue with the reds.

Just make sure you get more as opposed to less. LEDs can be kind of dim, although personally they are my favorite type of lighting.

i got the blue one off ebay. I use 4 strips of 24 lights on my 6 foot tank and at night i gives a really nice dark light, it really looks like its night time in the tank and my ghost knife loves it and can be seen swimming all over the tank

I've got 3 rows of white LED lights in my QT tank and they're not much brighter than a nightlight. I like them for my QT tank to keep the light low and the fish calm, but I wouldn't have them in a main tank simply because they're not bright enough for my taste

If you use the 2 Watt LED's or more powerfull ones you should get enough light.
But best effect is when you turn off any lights in the house and then watch with blue LEDs!
i got 6x6 white Deville LED spots but they are actually too bright and will create a beam.
i put coloured lenses under those and placed them right above the airstones, and that works fine, and highlights the coloured bubbles at night.

...and it can be sexy-time too while you do that too Nod...

You know--soft music in the background, lights off, tank LEDs on, glasses of wine, mars bars, buttcheeks...

Yeah I do that too..I have one right below my airstone behind a root. I like how it looks with the bubbles. .

the good thing is that these are waterproof, which cannot be said from my Xmas LED's...
I just can't find if these are 2 Watt LEDs, for you need that Wattage to penetrate through 2 feet of water.
I had the 1W LED's but they were worthless for my tank.

@Johnny; You know exactly what i find romantic, Mars bars and all...
