I am very new to this site, but the one thing i seem to keep picking up on is how everyone talks about the importance of Filtration. I have been keeping fish for 20 years, but this is my first attempt at oscars, or American cichlids for that matter.I have in the past been a big fan of Fluval canister filters and also ran a Sacemn (not sure if thats spelled right) internal filters.
My oscar set up is a Jebo 3126. It hold approx 320 l. It has a built in trickle filter in the lid. It performed fine when it housed my general community fish, (gouramis,Angels,Barbs, ect). Will it be up to task with oscars or should I subsidise it with a canister as well?

if your tank holds 320L then the built in trickle filter will cater for around that number. most members would say you need at least twice the tank volume filtration, and edging more to 3x is better. i would certainly run another filter able to cope with 400L+ to be safe.

If my memory serves me correctly, your tank is 285 litres for the Jebo 3126.
Theresa similar Aqua care tank that is the same size and even looks the same.

for oscar, you need a 5X turn over if using canister
or 10x if using a HOB type of filtration....

but if you have a very big tank, 2X or 3x will keep you at bay...
less water maintenance
