Ever wondered what 700 bio balls and 11 kg of ceramic noodles looks like in a 55 gal sump

with a 4500 liter /hr pump

I'll vid the test run tomorrow I'll fill it outside (just in case lol) and run the return back into the sump

Then if all goes well I'll run the hose into the sump and pump the water on to the garden for an hour or so to clean the media

wish me luck
Cheers Gaz

OMG! Even my babies couldn't fill that up with poo! What a monster! Are you going to add some media from your current filter to kick off the bacteria colony? When that get's established it will be a force of nature!

That IS a nice sump.

I would have made a chamber to put heaters and UV filters in. So the tank is 100% show only.

Other than that, WOW, that is awesome.

265 Gallons (84x24x30)
36" T5 Light for shading, sunlight effects
300 Gallon rated Living Color wet-dry sump
3L of SeaChem Matrix + Bioballss, ceramic rings etc...
1xIvy for nitrate filtering

I am always looking for better ways to enhance the lives of my babies. Hit me up, let's chat about fish!

with a good pre filter, cleaning once a year seems a lot to me.
i must admit that my pre filter collects all the crap, and the sump itself stays untouched for a very, very long time.

just keep in mind for your testrun, your hose will not be able to keep the sump filled when the pump is running!
you'll need a bunch of buckets to keep the sump full during your test!

the sump looks monstrous and very cool, just my kinda thing.
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!
