Hi all,
Looking at setting up a fish tank for my 11 year old son. He loves helping me with the maintanence on mine and has been asking for his own. He may get his wish for Christmas.
I have 3 clown loaches in my oscar set up ranging in size from about 4 to 6 inches. My oscars are only 3inches, so they are ok for now but I can see problems developing as the Oscars get bigger. So...my son can have the oscars for his tank and add some other community fish. Gee I go on, I'll get to the question.
We have seen a fish tank on E-bay made by Aqualive. It has a built in trickle system filter as well as furo' in the hood. It comes with with a cabinet. Its the same sort of set up as my Jebo, or a Aqua One, but its pretty cheap. They come in different sizes. We would be looking a 2 foot in either 96 litre or 128 litre. The price ranges from $200-$250.
Does anybody own a tank in this brand or have any information on thier quality?

3 clown loaches will not be able to live in that much water forever. They really need more space. Depending on their age, you have some time, but loaches get to be 12" and they like to play, and frolic, and have space to do that.
4xOscars
1xBlood Parrot
2xJDs (pair)
5xClown Loaches
1xPleco

265 Gallons (84x24x30)
36" T5 Light for shading, sunlight effects
300 Gallon rated Living Color wet-dry sump
3L of SeaChem Matrix + Bioballss, ceramic rings etc...
1xIvy for nitrate filtering

I am always looking for better ways to enhance the lives of my babies. Hit me up, let's chat about fish!

They range in age from about 18 months to 3 years. They seem to grow pretty slow. I would have no qualms with trading them at the aquarium shop if the get to big.

with that price range,i suggest you scout from ebay and get a better option...

you can get a good tank size with accessories and give your son a chance to have
a good fish with character other than loaches.... i love loaches too... but
if you can get a bigger tank... why not... at least you do have a back up
just in case troubles comes along...
