TOPIC: another tank¿?

another tank¿? 4 years, 2 months ago #12096

I know that some people think that i'm too unprepared to keep an oscar but I have been doing research every night for the past 3 weeks or so and i plan to do more research every night untill the end of may when i will have saved up enough extra money that I can spend on a large tank(90 gallons or less) and I was wondering if you have advice. Is it worth the mony¿?
Will it be very difficult¿? I am all ears:)

well if you can't retain enough information by the end of May then you'll never be ready for an Oscar.

There isn't really any complicated information you need to them. It's just being sensible and responsible when you start keeping a large fish like Oscars. You obviously quite responsible because you haven't been tempted to go out and buy an Oscar when he only have a 29 gallon tank. Believe me, there are loads of people out there who keep Oscars in smaller tanks than you have got.

Get yourself a big enough tank, fit good filtration to it and you are away. Oscars are very easy fish to look after, as long as you carry out regular tank maintenance then you shouldn't have any problems whatsoever. Oscars are not for people who just want to sit there looking at their fish without having to do much work.

OFL is spot on, with the right size tank and filtration, the right amount of fish, and enough maintainance (filter cleaning and water changes) then as long as you dont overfeed, then oscar are quiet easy to keep
