I haven't had any experience with lunar lighting. I put my lights on for a few hours in the evening and then I leave them off for the whole night, this gives the fish a chance to sleep. I would discourage anyone from lighting the tank p during the night, even if it is subdued lighting, when it gets dark in the wild, the fish will be in complete darkness, I think it's only fair to give them the same conditions in captivity.

i have my moonlughts set on a timer to come on 3/4 of an hour before the main tank lights and go off 1 hour after the main lights go off. i do this to gently ease the transition between light and dark
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!

I use moonlights. I have them come on for an hour before the main lights come one(6pm). I then have then have them come back on at 8-30 and they go off 2 hours after the main lights go off(10pm). I think the blue moonlight and the main lights together looks good
I can't get no sleep

i use a cold cathode lighting for my moonlights. i use 2 12 inch strips in my tank which is 72x27x27. i find the cold cathode give a more even distribution of lighting over the led type
