iv been offered an ehiem 2228 for $250, retail at $320.

its huge. its suitable for 600 l/h, and pumps 1050l/lph. i have a 4ft by 1.5, 1.5.. approximately 325 litres. i will want to put 2 oscars and probably 2 jack dempseys, or 2 blue acara or a few other ciclids in there.

need ur advice, wat u guys reckon.

its good because ill need a beef filtration system for my oscars.. but its MEGA beef. also it will last for 10 years hopefully ;D.. and ill prolly get bigger tanks when i move out into my own home.

but its 250.. i was hoping to spend $120 max LOL.. my 21st is coming up.. perhaps a birthday present to myself?


is it too much.? whats ur experiences with EHIEM? compared to cheap asian brands??

the filter is the heart of your aquarium. i always recommend to get the biggest one that you can afford. when it comes to filters and tank accesories the big names are eheim and fluval. eheim is probably the best on the market right now with fluval is running a close second. both these companies make exceptional products and will give years of reliable service to you.

remember when it comes to filters you get what you pay for.

FX5 is top of the line but a little bit expensive.
however, that is what your money worth. eheim brand
will do but beyond compare with FX5.

Its a good filter by top brand. as nec says top most brand is ehiem and fluval. you cant go wrong with anyone of them.

yeh so far im getting that brands do actually matter haha.

the fx5 is just too much for me tho, im still a student haha so this is eating into my savings. i will probably try get the filter but at a cheaper price.
