i have just bought the aqau one aquience bow front for 400 pound, (very cheap) and it comes with 2 Tetra TEC 1200's,
VECTON 400 UV UNIT, ( i think this makes the water crystal clear),
2 aqua one heaters,
2 power heads,

the tank is....
620 LITRES
180cm LONG
60cm DEEP
64.5cm HIGH
10mm GLASS.

i hunted around on the net and found the tank brand new for 1100 pound.
has anyone else got one of these and im sure i have a great tank coming tommorow.
question is... will the 2 tetra tec 1200's and the vectron 400 uv unit be enough to keep the tank crystal clear.
the bloke i am buying it off said his water was always crystal clear and never ever had dirt in his tank.
but you never know when buying off a stranger.
so anyone got some advise for me? or experience with this tank or filters?

the tank in england cost 1100 pound to buy and im getting 2 tetratec 1200's which after reading reviews, is a really good external filter.
so 2 should be well enough.
has anyone used a VECTON 400 UV UNIT,
the bloke told me their really good and keep the water totally clear (crystal clear was his words)

i just sold one last week!!!!!!!!!!!! with 2 aquaclear 3000 powerheads, undergravel filter with 2 uplift tubes (one 3000 powerhead on each) and a tetratec 1200 internal filter and air pump....i have owned it for 9 years and i bought it secondhand!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was a marine tank when i first bought it but it has run for the last 8 years with the secondhand gear mentioned above and EVERYONE who saw it commented on how clear the water was!!!!!!! i am gutted i sold it:( you have got yourself a GREAT TANK and i think the filtration is more than adequate for clear water!!!!!!well done:)

I have only been into aquariums and fishes for the last year so im still a newbie but im glad i got comfirmation that the tank is ok and the filters will be fine.

how does it work? and what is it?

its an in line water clarifier and algae stopper basicaly ...you run it in the input tube of one of the external filters ...there is a uv light bulb inside the unit that shines on the water passing through the cylinder and the claim is that the uv light stopps algae forming in the water that has been exposed to the uv light ??????????i have only used them on my outdoor ponds..never tried one in the tank but some people swear by them!!!!!they didnt do much on my pond tho but hey if its in the deal give it a go!!!!!! THEM TANKS AND FILTERS ARE GREAT THO...

WOW, that is what i call crystal clear.
so im assuming as long as i keep up my maintenance i should be able to keep my tank clear like that.
so what else do you think i should buy?
because i have my tank, 2 tetratec 1200's the vecton 400 uv unit, i have 2 aqua one heaters 300w, 2 air pumps.
so do you think i should buy any other stuff?
i also have a eheim 2213 external filter which i assume i wont need anymore as well as a fluval 4 internal which i also doubt i'll need now.

an algae magnet!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL LOL thats about all i can think of you got more than enough ..and spares !!!!!!!!your water will be clear like this after about 8 weeks ..it will take you that long to get over the bacterial bloom!!!!!!!!!and the cycle

so whats the deal with the vecton 400? do i need to clean it? or care for it? or just leave it attached to the outlet tube and let it work?
do i leave it on all day and night?
will it use loads of electric?

also biggamehunter, any chance you could tell me whats best to put in my tetratec 1200's, i been getting told of alot of people to set it up differently to what tetra advise.
basically i want to know, shall i have carbon? bio balls? ect ect and what order should i do it?

also, dont know if it makes a difference, but i'll be putting half of my current tank water into my new 1 and using my eheim for a few weeks to help start the process. because im going to have to buy all new stuff for my 2 tetratec 1200's.
