The choice is very close. 6ft can be hard to find a space for and like BG has said more water is nice. to be honest your best bet is one with the largest surface area as this allows oxygen to enter and carbon dioxide to leave easier. These shapes again are hard to find places in a room to look good. given they are so close I would go with what would fit the room best.

Ummmmm......Difficult choice. I don't think the extra foot is going make much difference when it comes to oxygen levels. After all, if you got a good filtration running, you will be okay. At the end of the day, it will probably be slightly higher than the 6 foot tank. Personally, I would go for the slightly larger tank, even though it's not quite as long. Oscars do like swimming back and forth, but they also use the depth of the thanks a lot. So really it's six of one, and half a dozen of the other. The extra 25 gallons will make some difference when it comes to tank maintenance and water changes.

more water in the tank gives you preferential advantage
in the long run. footings is not much difference so go with
125 gal size.

i would have to agree with the rest. even though the 6 foot tank is longer it is only 100 gallons which is just enough for your 2 oscars. ihmo i would go with the bigger tank (125 gallon) just to help with the water parameters

I'm looking for a new tank too and had a question. I currently have one O that's about 6" and I do not plan on getting any more, he'll be our only baby. Right now he is in a 55g tank at school that is 12" front to back and really long, i want to get something large so that he can turn easier when he gets larger. Prob is I don't really have room at home for a standard 70 or 100g tank that has that additional front to back room but same length. The pet store did have a really good deal on a 56g with stand that is more of a square than a rectangle. It would fit in my place really well but before i purchase i wanted to get opinions. i know less surface area is not as good but i've got good aeration with my pumps, sooo... do you see nay other problems?

As BGH said, a 65+ would be alot better, but also, oscar like to swim lengths ways, as long as they can turn with some extra room its ok, but length of the tank is more important.
you can get some nice 65 gallon tanks for some good prices nowadays.
just hunt about mate.
have you checked e-bay?
