I just had a big duh moment. I currently have a 55g tank at school but am looking for a 75-125 tank for at home. I just dawned on though that we live in a manufactured home and it probably can't support much weight! anyone have a similar situation and made it work? I guess I'll try to find out what the load max is of the home.

Yes, last year i was living in my own place which was on the 4th floor and did not have concrete floors, so a large tank was a NO NO,
Luckily my girlfriend's place is ground floor and has concrete floors so im lucky to be able to have my 136 uk gallon tank in there.

sorry, i have no idea on how mfh in your place is. in my
place, an mfh is usually made of pre-cast concrete.

but even those pre-historic wooden houses with shell-made
window could carry out a load more than an aquarium weight.

an aquarium of 125 gallons tips the scales at about 1400 lbs. since you live in the usa i assume that if your home is built to code then it should be able to bear the weight, if placed on an outside wall. however im assuming that the building codes were you are is close the codes here. i would strongly suggest you get a professional to assess your home and see if in fact it can bear the weight.
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!

placing your aquarium on an outside wall is good advice as long as you understand which direction your floor joists are running, you want the length of your aquarium running opposite your floor joists. To further support the weight build a solid platform to sit on the floor and spread out the weight instead of just the legs of your stand (depending on how your stand is built) hope this helps

Thanks all, I spoke to my dad (experienced carpenter)and he says there are steel i-beams underneath that will hold no problem. When he ordered the manufactured home built he chose the strongest package (we live in the panhandle of Florida- HURRICANES) so I'm thinking it will be ok. Before I move it I'm going to look underneath and see which direction the beams run.
