Which filters are people using successfully ? i have read so much and everyone has a different opinion . i like the look of the Fluval 405 it is a bit over the top on size it is capable of filtering but bigger is better so i am told with messy oscars .
Are there any other filters that have a good reputation ?

you can NEVER be over the top on filtering!!!!!!! i use fx5,s and 405,s

you can never over filter an aquarium. on my 220 i run a 55 gallon sump with 2 aquaclear 110s. on my 180 i use fluval fx5 and a aquaclear 110. on my 65 african tank i use an aquaclear 70 along with a fluval 305 and on my 125 i use an aquaclear 70 along with 2 fluval 405s

ya never over the top i have a 55 with about 5 or 6 sunfish in it in there until pond is set up but any way i have 2 aqua clear 110s and 2 fluval 405s on it and i also am running a 20 gallon long sump

on a fluval 405 you can turn the out put to where it is basicly dripping
