Whats the opinion of metal halide lights around here?
My local aquarium has a good looking one with a flouro bulb on either side,& what looks like a quartze hallogen light in the middle, with 2 switches for either type of bulb, or both.

if your not using them on reef tanks the additional cooling needed to keep the temp down isnt really worth the trouble. also they will promote algea growth in your tank.
if your looking to better lighting in your tank aquaglo makes a flourecent bulb that brings out cichlid colours very well and at a fraction of the cost of a metal halide setup.
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!
