This subject has come up many times.

Big cichlids? You need big tanks and big filters (and frequent water changes).

Filters that you should consider:

Eheim Classic 2217:




Rena XP4 (XPXL):




Fluval FX5/FX6:




The only HOB:




So there you go, as far as basic filtration, IMO.

Big Cichlids = Big Tanks + Big Filters + Frequent Water Changes :)

a built-in biological filter can also be very good, and even a small aquaponics setup with pothos can do wonders.

pressure pond filter, one of the bigger i've seen so far. i'm guessing it's able to do 16000+ liters of pond water. if you look at the fx5-6, they are basically the same, only difference is that most pond filters don't have a built in pump.
