Bri B created the topic: Python purchase completed.

Just ordered my python via Amazon. est arrival mid next week. Can't wait. Didn't want to chance one of the lesser over the counter ones as the reviews are terrible. Hoping it's as life changing for me and my O's as everyone says it is.

Your back will thank you!

I attach mine to the outside garden hose that way I can water the lawn with it.

Good call. I got the 50 foot unit as my sink is right around 25 feet from the tank. Didn't want to risk coming up a foot or 2 short. Very pumped and now I can pull off more large wcs which my oscar children will benefit from.

I have to admit I was a bit disappointed with it at first, but that's because of a few reasons:

1: I was already using a hose to drain the biggest tanks I had at the time, and just using a bucket for the tank I had below sink level which was only a 55 gal so really didn't take long.
2: My expectations were sky high about the positive pressure siphoning you could do by running the tap. It didn't work as well as advertised (a lot of water wastage), but that problem disappeared when I had the uh... let's call it a brainwave of sticking the hose out the back door to drain instead :P

Going from full bucket brigade straight to a python will be a lot more mindblowing than going from one hose, to a slightly more efficient hose, that's for sure :P

I can Def run the hose right out the front door so I'll do that right from the start. As far as filling back up from the sink I'm hoping that goes off with out issue. The top of my tank is Def a good foot and half plus higher than my sink.

Yeah filling from the sink's easy as. Don't need to worry about tank height when filling as water pressure takes care of it for you.

Sweet. Great to hear. I'll just get the manual siphon going and drain out the front door and refill from the tap. Super pumped and it will infinitely more valuable when I get my 125 plus gallon.

Check out the universal adapter. amazon has them for about 8 bucks. What does the faucet look like (the one your gonna use to fill the tank)

Daddadoo it's very kitchen sink standard. I can unscrew the tip and reveal the threaded part so fingers crossed it is compatible. If not I'll obviously get whatever adapter I need to
