I use an older light that went on my 55 gallon tank from the early-mid 90s, instead of the light that came with this 75 gallon. It's just too bright. But finding a dim aquarium light can be difficult. For one small tank I have with a light that is too bright, I ended up tinting the plexiglass top with a very small amount of krylon black spraypaint. You can also use automotive window tinting (the one with the least amount of tinting ... a little bit goes a long way) or you can buy plexiglass or acrylic that is already tinted.

Even for lights on, I would only use 1. Better for the Lutino.

Bri you can try satellite current led plus....great lights I have them on my 150 they are very customizable. In your case you can dim it.
I leave my lights off all day and turn them on when I get home from work back off when I go to sleep

The led lights I have are replaceable so I will take a look for dimmer or adjustable ones. It was bought at petsmart so I should be able to find other options that fit right into the hood.

All my LED lights are on timers They come on around 5pm when I get home from work and go off around 7:15pm. As people have noted the lights are for my benefit more so than the fish.

Kinda of a side note to pick everyone's brain. Just bought a current satellite plus. Couple of things I've read online have said that fish can't see the blue "night" spectrum setting it has. Anyone have any experience because I can turn the light on and my O reacts to it. Not crazy or anything but he looks up at the LEDs. Didn't want to leave it on all night if it's affecting him.
