also this tank has a sump but is this all the filtration I will need? Im not really sure with sumps never had one before, Ill post pics as its only half full at moment, Im guessing I need more media in it.

First part has sponges, second part has lava rock I use it kind of like the bio balls but there is a third space which is empty and then the end has the the heater and pump. Should I fill the third space with bio balls etc

I'm living my life, but not necessarily in the right order :)

Very nice indeed. I suspect this was intended for a Marine aquarium. However, you can use it for your Oscars with no problems. Can you take a photo of the sump please? And yes, I think this is all the filtration you will need. The only problem with some filters as they are not always that good with mechanical filtration. However, on Marine aquariums, the fish don't produce the same amount of solid waste as Oscars do, so the strong mechanical filtration isn't needed.

Did they provide you with the pumps for the sump? Also, can I assume that this all plumbed in?

I may not always be right, but I am always the BOSS :-)

yea its plumbed in and I used the pump that I had running on the plywood tank, they said that one was fine for the tank and compatible so it saved me buying another one. Yea these are sold as marine but they did say it was suitable also for tropical or coldwater.

just tried to take photo of sump but its too dark cant see anything but its the same tank as this one only in white

Very nice!! B)

When you say noisey - how noisey? Sumps do have a constant sound.
Are the initial pipes submerged or is there room for water to drop into sump?
If this is the case perhaps extend them alittle to minimise sound.

P.s can the door handle touch the tank? That looks a close call.

yea I know there is a door stop between the door and tank its a little scottie dog not sure where he was for the photo but Im always paranoid about door handles and tank :)

its the spray beam making the water flow noise sounds like a fast river. I dont mind but I am guessing it could be annoying for guests etc the pump is a little noisey but not as bad as my air pump thats really bad

Ill see if I can lover the pipe work but lol I couldnt open the sump without phoning the guys up for help heehee they thought I was special :)
