Starting to save now and hopefully have a 6x2x2 pretty soon. At the moment my Oscar shadow is in a 450litre (100uk gal) tank all by him/herself filtered with a Fluval FX6
Would it be best to start reading up on sumps now and getting one or will 2 FX6's be good enough filtration?

My advice would be to put a couple of the canister filters on the 125 gallon aquarium. I had exactly the same dimensions a few years ago, mine was the Clear Seal commercially available aquarium That came with the Cabinet. I had a couple of Eheim canisters on mine and I never had a problem with water quality. We often get asked about sump filters on the smaller aquariums and most of us would agree that it's not worth installing one of these filters on an aquarium of that size.

I may not always be right, but I am always the BOSS :-)

I think he was asking about the 6x2x2 future tank. For that a sump would be good, but the two fx6's would also work. I currently have a 8x2x2 and run two fx6's and I haven't had any issues. Great filters.
