When doing say a 10-15% water change do you have to dechlorinate the water before you add it back into the tank or can you drain the desired amount for the change and just refill fill it straight from the tap.

it depends on how much chlorine your water company put in there... if it is just 10-15%, i would not add any anti chlorine...

in my case, i can go 50% w/c aqnd never apply any anti chlorine

I been using that "start right" that can be purchased at any lps, should I just throw that in as a safety precaution after I add the water?

Okay I appreciate it. Also I was wondering if it would be beneficial for me to run two canister filters linked together but to just one output and inlet line?

If you add water from a hose directly into your tank, you always treat the whole tank with water conditioner for the whole volume of the tank. If you use buckets to refill, you can treat each bucket according to the amount of water in the bucket.

Do not run 2 canisters linked together. They are not made to run efficiently that way. You lower the performance on the second canister, and don't gain anything.

Using Start Right is a waste of money. If your tank is cycled, it won't really help.

If your water has chloramines, use Seachem Prime or Kordon Amquel Plus. Seachem Prime is cheaper in the long run.
