what for are the seeds?
if you are going to use the seeds to grow plants on the filter...
you must learn first how much plants could thrive on your nitrate level...
aquaponics is a complicated things too...

I was planning on having them in one of the tanks underneath just to help with nitrates they didn't say much as to what the seeds were actually just various aquatic grasses for fresh water aquariums. I was thinking 55 gal or 29 gal tank with a egg crate light diffuser placed a few inches off the bottom then a layer of rock then layer of smaller substrate to plant seeds in (once they grow it says to fully submerge them bout 10 days after planting) the water would come in threw the top and id have the output under the egg crate so water has to flow threw substrate and roots

If i plant to many plants wouldn't just enough grow that the nitrate level supports?

many factors to consider: lights; nutrients; and space
you may also consider looking for pothos aka devils ivy...
it works perfectly for the purpose and can thrive with minimal lights..
