Alright guys, dont think any less of me, but some of my buddies and I are wondering if an aluminum beer can will have any detrimental effects on my fish. Being a college student and all beer is a part of our everyday lives, and we would like for our fish to partake as well. lol. I was just wondering if this would hurt my water paremeters or anything. Thanks in advance!

not sure about the aluminum, i would definitely rinse it well..

do you have any small fish that might fit part of themselves in the hole? if so they might cut themselves on the edge

I would definitly rinse the can thouroughly. I would also figure out a way to plug the hole up so no fish would be able to get cut on it. Not sure how Im going to do that yet, but I will figure that out after I get the go ahead from you guys.

i dont think it would be a problem, as we drink out of cans, it should be safe for your fish..

i would wait to see what one of the other guys say, as i dont know for sure if its safe?

do cans rust?

Aluminum by nature doesnt rust, but as far as oxidizing or something like that not sure.

I thought about a bottle, butI was just wondering what the label would do. I know it wouldnt hurt the fish, but Im not sure how long it would last.

after rinsing the beer can, it would be fine and won't corrode
for a long time. my only concern is the space issue. i can not
immagine a tank of fish full of beer can...
i used to consumed 2 to 3 beer every meal, and putting all cans
in my tank, there would be no more space in two weeks....
