Hi,
I have my heater running @ 26deg, but since its winter here, that temp may rise or fall by +or- 1deg.
Is it ok to heat the tank to 28deg as long as I have plenty of air being pumped in to make up for the depleted oxygen?.
thanks for any help.

is that Celsius? as my tank is outside and it also winter here i have the heater set at 28.

in summer i turn it down (because tank is outside)

if the tank is inside you really shouldnt need to turn the temp up as it shouldnt get really cold

I have 3 oscars living with a sturgeon at 18 degrees and have done for a year or so...To be honest unless oscars are trapped in tiny pools there natural water ways dont get to 28C very rare would the water reach 26 in the main rivers...They will live at 28C but id look to lower it if you could!!!

hey Sins, i believe what an outside tank means is that the tank is located
outside the room or typical living room. perhaps her tank is located at
the port or garage.

yes the tank is outside... located just out my back door in a patio area.

the reason i dont have it inside anymore is beacause i had problems with mould and dampness in my old house, and with my newborn we decided the tank would go outside, where we cant spill water on the carpet and make a big mess...

i dont use a light anymore either as i found there was no use for it with the natural light.

i dont currently have a full tank pic... but you mightve noticed in my pics the background is always brick... thats the bricks outside

That's so original, they stay warm enough during the winter? I'm used to Minnesota cold but I'm guessing it's not as bad there.

I dont heat my tank, 180 GL, and lowest in winter is 23,5c, highest in summer 29c
Without heating my tank stays at 25 c.
