OK guys I have a question, or maybe a problem.

In my 75 gallon bow front, I have my two jags. No Tank mates. I am running a fluval 204, a whisper 60, a whisper 20 and a Marineland magnum 220.

This tank has been hazy for 2 weeks. It looks like the water is really thick. I tested the water 4 days ago and my peramitors were: Ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 20ppm. I didn't like the look so I did about a 70% waterchange and scrubbed all decorations and the glass. This is also the tank that had the brown algae about a month ago. Now the algae is gone but something is not right with this tank. I tested the water again tonight and my results were,

Ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 5ppm.

I can post a pic if I need to, and I do have lots of surface movement and an air bar running.

Sounds like a bacteria bloom. Water changes and light will make this worse. If this is the case, leave the light off and dont change the water for a little while. A pic would be helpful.

Here are the pics. I don't think it is a bloom as all the filters have been running for several months except the Fluval, that one I just hooked up a week ago to try and help clear this.

If you look at the pics the water just looks thick.

If you look at the bottom of the tank, the plants look like it's a mirage maybe.. The water just looks thick. everything looks hazy. It is hard to see in those pics. But I can see it and it is driving me crazy.

I think I can, there is something that's supposed to clear the water, Jungles makes it I think...worth a try

I try to avoid Chemicals if at all possible. I just don't trust them.

welcome to the club Nicki.... last night, when i can't
sleep, i cleaned all my filters (in tank water)....and
stay until 2:30 AM. unfortunately, i forgot to put down
the curtain to minimized the sunlight.... when i got home
after office hours, my tank is also cloudy.... too much
light perhaps.....

I don't use much but I keep a few bottles of Melafix around for emergencies and would be lost without my Prime.
