2 days ago i bought 2 rows of blue leds who should give a nice 'nightscene' i found out that in the water they shine way to hard, and out the water it is quite bright in the tank. my biggest pleco who is always under the horizontal log in the water was still hanging under it as he does during the day but i often see he does that as night as well for some reason so i could not tell by that if it was to bright or not. i tought i should try and feed them so i dropped some chips and instantly my plecos where all over the place...
the only bad part about this was that i dropped 6 chips, and only 4 reached the bottom at 1st >< my oscars where obviously still awake

they dropped 'm after a couple of seconds but the whole point was that they are awake still.
now is my question: if the Blue light works the same as daylight and keeps my fish awake, i cannot let it on the whole night right ? i'll just have to trash the heavy lights faster then and give 'm a 'evening-scene' and after an hr or 2 just dimming all the lights.
this is what it looks like.
