ummm guys not too sure what this is growing on my canister filter pipes...manly on the return back to the tank(clean side of filter)....it looks like little white spots here is sum pics if they show what i mean....any ideas???

oooo and forgot to say than pipe is green like when its new not green from water..lol
iv used two diff colour pipes...haha

I would guess that is some sort of algae growing on the pipes. Its a good idea to clean you pipes every now and again. You can buy things to clean the pipes. They are a long piece of flexable plastic with a brush on the end

yeah i thought it was algee too but there is a little bit of that further up the pipe and it looks compleatly diff hey....it sorta looks like those bacteria that u grow when at school in those dish thingys....?

There are lots of sorts of algae, I would still guess its algae of sort. If your tank maintanence is good i wouldnt worry about it. Just clean the tubes every so often

I'm gettin ready to get bashed for this, but when my things get get like that including, rock, plastic plants and such I soak them in a mild bleach and water solution for a fews hours, rinse, then fill up the soaking vessel, ( a bucket usually ) with frsh water and add a handsome dose of dechlorinater.

yeah but my tank has only just cycled so i dont want to stop the filter or touch it till its been cycling for a few weeks so i hope it doesnt get any worse.lol thanks guys.

as long as you get rid of all the bleach you wont get problems. Why take the risk when you can clean them without using bleach- just my opinion

dont know wot it is but i got it as well i have had it for months when you find out wot it is tell me!!!!!!!!!!!!!lol

Its just something that grows and is normal. Anyone with filter pipes that are not clear wont see it. As i have already said just clean to pipes every few months or so
