Hi guys:>

I was just wondering which would be more benifical to my tank an Extra filter or a air pump/bubbler thing.

I have a Marineland canister filter right now (220 gph) with no bypass.

I was wondering which would help my tank more given that i already a filter.. A aqua clear 50 filter or an elite 801 air pump with air stone.

Any help would be great:>

An extra pump is just going to add extra oxygen to your tank. Of course this is beneficial in certain circumstances such as very hot weather but you are not really going to benefit that much from it. Extra filtration would be much more beneficial than just adding a pump. Like I always say, you can never have too much filtration with Oscars. Remember that you are dealing with extremely messy fish, the more filtration you have, the cleaner your tank will be

OFL is right, and if you position the outlet of the filter to ripple the top of the water, the filter will help oxygenate the water as much as a air pump. The only reason to get an air pump is because you like the look of them
