Heater overkill - what do you think? 2 years, 8 months ago #54746

Today i went out and purchased the 250w Jager 3608 heater, and I was wondering if this is too much heater for my 60 gallon tank?

Thanks
Chris

nope...you had just bought the right size. normally, we recommend the
300W size with thermosetting. it will function properly and won't bust
easily.

Thanks Paul, just wanted to make sure so i do not boil my fish! Also a thermo setting is just the thing that allows you to set a specific temperature, right?

You can test what temp your water will stay, when cycling your tank.
Good luck and post some pics of your progress!
We'd like to see those!

thermo setting will give the range where you heater will set on or set off.
having a bigger capacity is more practical and economical... further, you can
easily attain your desired temperature.
