Another Light Question! 2 years, 7 months ago #55393

Hey guys,

I received a used lamp fixture for my 75g tank, it has 2 coralife 20,000k high intensity purified super day light 40 watt bulbs in it, and i was wondering if this is the best bulb for oscars or would you recomend another 1?

i have use the coral life bulbs before and i found that they give nice light to the aquarium. having said that these bulbs are primarily used in marine tank to help with the growth of coral(hence the name). the only drawback to them was the increase in algea growth in my tank. after a while i found that they were too bright for my purposes and i changed them to some aquaglow bulbs to bring out the colour of my fish.
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!

Im no expert on these lights but I am led to believe they are expensive to run and as necromancer said they are not needed on an oscar tank. You only need lights for you to see the fish
