hi all, i am seriously thinking of getting another tank, probably about 6 or 7' X 2 x 2...
I would really like to knock a hole in the wall between my living room and hallway and put it in there..
just wondering if anyone else has done this??
pics would be great

Sounds like a really good idea, that would be a stunning set up if you went through with it.
I've seen setups like this before, the back of the tank is normally located in a fish room where maintenance can be carried out and you don't have to worry about making a mess in the room where the tank is actually displaying. Really cool idea, good for it

in a hotel where i worked for before, we had installed one facing the dining room
where the customer can choose their fish, lobster, or prawns alive. and have it cooked
in-front of them. yes, we did knock out the CHB, fitted the glass tank in it, as
part of the wall, but the whole tank and access is on the other side.
as OFL had said, no worry for the mess you would incur in it.

lol.. no obsession yet guys, I'm just enjoying it at the minute, even if my babies did have a bit of a fight last night lol...
the plec has almost finished cleaning my tank, so i'll start feeding it soon..
as for the tank in the wall, I have found the PERFECT tank, its 7' x 2' x 15" deep, which i think would be ideal.. I've spoke to a mate and hes going to think about a potential surround design, also what sort of supports would be required.. not that I'm afflicted with multi-tank syndrome of course lol lol....
the more i think about it the more i think its doable... i dont think i'd go for big fish, i think i'd go for lots of small colourful ones... not sure tho..
all the best, and thanks for the encouragement lol

First sign of an addiction, is when the addict starts making excuses!
Just pulling your leg!
I totaly understand the urge.
I love the circle of planning a tank, getting it and completing it.
Then keeping it running and planning for the next one...

yeah I actually forgot how much I enjoyed keeping fish..
my last lot of tanks were spread about the house, but none were in my living room, having this one in there means I can watch them all night if I want to, and still be around for the kids... once they go to bed I turn the big light off and chill out for an hour lol..
i think another tank would mean twice the chill factor lol..

Just wait until you install some nightlights, then when the darkness falls, the fun only begins.
You'll be a full-time fishtank-insomniac in no time.lol
My tank is so nice at night and adding nightlights was the best investment I ever made.
I think those lights doubled my fishspotting hours

and that is one very relaxing moment ... and can always have that every moment
you want. just lay there, sit there, or standby on the side and watch those
little creature fooling you with wiggling tails..

lol, I could become real upset if I didn't get my sleep in the old days, before I had my tank.
Now if I wake up at night I sit and watch my fish do their stuff at night.
My Oscar is actually the only fish that sleeps every night.
The rest can sleep but will have a party most nights!
