So this morning I picked up a 305 canister, its only about 6 months old and cost me $40! I did have to spend $40 more to fill it with pre-filter and BIO-MAX but its running great! I left my HOT magnum HOB filter running with the BIOwheel too... How long do I need to run them before the new filter is cycled? I may just continue to keep them both running. Im picking up a Tru-View 55 gallon plexi tank tomorrow morning. My fish will finally have a decent home that doesn't need to be cleaned twice a week in order to keep the water in good shape. if your gonna run a 55 gal with a 305 you'll definitely need to keep the hob filter on as well, the turnover of a 305 is only just capable at that volume.

If I can find that right tank, I will just keep running both and add a second Biowheel to the HOB. Im picking up 2x penguin 1100 power heads tonight.Those will be used for a reverse UGF.... All combine I will be rated for about a 200 gallon tank... Being that I have an Oscar, I should be ok with a 55 gallon. The 305 is rated at 70gallon tank for normal fish... As its sitting right now, Im in a 35gallon with a 550 powerhead with a foam filter on it, a HOT mag hooked up with a big biowheel and the 305 can.. lol can you say over filtered???
