The Fluval FX5 is a fantastic filter! I have always been an Eheim kinda girl but since keeping large fish I decided to give the Fluval a go. I have yet to be disappointed and highly recommend it.

However, your tank is far to small for this filter. The FX5 filters more than 600G of water per hour! The force of water that comes out of the outtake is amazing and would cause way to much turbulance in your small tank.

I assume you mean 112 gallons, an FX5 might be overkill for 112 litres plus you couldn't keep the fish you mentioned in a 112 litre. Lets say it is 112 gallon, the FX5 is an excellent filter for tanks with messy fish, i know three fishkeepers with these filters and they reckon they're more than suitable.
With your tank, assuming (112 gal) you might want to add a 405 as well just to keep the turnover healthy.

I have 2 running, No problems and highly recommended. If you don't go for one of them the Ethiem pro's are as good. I was going to say the filter will be as large as your tank if it is 112L but the others have picked up on this too so I won't bore you. )

Had my FX5 for a year. Great filter BUT cleaning it is a pain. You can't clean it unless you empty it (impeller is at the bottom) and it holds a hell of a lot of water. It's also very big, I have to have mine standing next to the tank, not underneath it. It does provide excellent filtration and flow rate and it's pretty quiet when set up properly (on the level with no air in it)
