I am currently waiting for my 100gallon to heat up. Roughly how long am I looking at in time? The water was 'pretty chilly' when it went it... Can you even make a prediction without knowing the exact temp.
I am using 2 heaters. one 250 watt and the other is I think a 100 watt. I took the 100 watt from the tank that the Oscars are currently in, in hopes of speeding the process. Was that a good idea? Will the Oscars be fine with out a heater for the time being? If the tank is not ready by the time I am going to sleep I will put it back in the tank with the fish.

Well I put one heater back with the oscars... It seems like it is going to take forever to get the water warm enough

oscar can tolerate a bit chilly water...that is better than abrupt water temp
changes. tank water will gradually heat up...and oscar can find a space in the
tank where he/she can be comfortable.....

I would let it run over night hun, and then check the temp in the morning! That will be too big of a temp change...

I couldn't sleep so I came and checked the temp. 70F. I added some tank water from the old tank and it bumped up to 75... so I tested the water. tests were spot on.. so... I transferred the fish.
They are doing great. I will continue to monitor them.
