My 10 inch Oscar keeps breaking his heaters. He is along in a 55 gallon breeder tank could he be bored?

could be my brother had to get pve pipe and put his heater in that to keep hos oscar from breaking it about 1/2 in bigger then ur heater velcro it at the top

Sounds like a good idea with the pipe. PVC pipe maybe. Another way depending on your filter type is to place the heater in the filter. I like the PVC pipe idea.

Oscars have been known to break heaters so its not uncommon. make sure the heater don't go above the water line when you do your water change. if the heater is taken out of water or above the water this will break it too. another common mistake people make.

Replace the heater with a Rena. They are Oscar proof! That's what I use and they can't break them. Here is a link, but they are available at most LFS.
