so alot of you know i have just recently setup an 8'x2'x2' tank here at my new house... as luck would have it... i dont even have that one finished when fate brought me this immaculate marineland ML-24SL 110 gallon refridgerated commercial lobster aquarium. a FREE gift to me, from a teacher friend of mine who is retiring soon. she had it sitting in the back corner of her classroom for a year now trying to decide if she was willing to setup a SW tank or not before she retired and decided against it, and thus it becomes MINES!!!!!! its got lights, filter media, refridgeration compressor, and a HELL of an air pump. it turns out this aquarium doesnt even have the traditional water pumps found in most all aquariums. instead it uses the same technology found in the simple under gravel filters, a pair of large 2" pipes with a massive air pump... and uses the bubbles to lift the water from the 20 gallon "sub tank" under the preforated floor of the 110 gallon main area above it. this is pretty damned neat if you ask me. cant wait to get some water in it tomorrow and see how it preforms!

edit: i forgot to mention i still have to head out to her house to get the skirting that goes around the bottom of the stand, as she never brought it to the school with her and its sitting quitely in her garage collecting dust. this soon will be put on and make it look "complete" like this one here i found for sale.

JESUS THIS THING HAS CAPPACITY!!!!!!!!!

www.marineland.com/sites/Marineland/Docu.../MLseries_manual.pdf

if your bored and think your fulval FX5 canister filter has alot of media... scroll down thru that manual there and be amazed.

cappacity is 75-100lb of live lobster, 35lb of live trout, or 50-60lb of live catfish.

i think this thing when setup will RULE.

Son of a bitch! some people have all the luck!

i guess you could grow dinner in it.

or maybe go catch a largemouth and keep it as a pet. (will they live in captivity?)
Please, for my sake, change your oil!

ive been pricing them online... ones ive seen were all in the 500-1500 dollar price range... for used ones... SO... more than likely im going to clean it up really nice as it is in fabulous condition, get the coolant recharged in it, and try to sell it for a nice chunk of change and go buy me some guns and a hooker or something maybe i dunno yet. i might just put fish in it... at the rate these koi are going it wont be long before they either get an upgrade or get rehomed, bc theres no way in hell im digging a pond for them.

i guess i can do whatever the hell i wanna do with it lol. gimi some suggestions???

as many of you know, alot of us have a bubbler or air pump in our aquariums to help add oxygen to the water for our fishies to thrive better...

this is a bubbler many of you may know...

does the job nicely and is pretty quiet...

and these... are the bubblers that bypassed hell and came straight out of the 9th dimension!!!!!!!!!

WOW! i pluged one of these in... can you say "LOUD!" and not only that, i have two of them at my disposal now! one is brand new and never used, im going to try and see if i can build a "quiet box" for it and hush it up so i can put it under the stand on my 8 footer and hook up a couple bubble curtain strip thingys, the large ones, and get some pretty bubble wall effect on the back of the tank. lol totally cool bonus score here ;D the folks at marineland arent bullshitting when they say they make heavy duty commercial aquaruims... these things are freaking insane.

MTS!!!!
You haven't even finished setting up your last tank!
Nice though.
Bet you'll need a soundproof box for the airpumps!
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!
